Marilyn Strother explores relationships, patterns, metaphors and playfulness in her painting. She is influenced by a lifelong love of nature and many years of gardening. Her preference is to paint outdoors from life. She has been described as sensitive and eclectic in her work, with an oriental influence from her interest in Asian antiques. Among her instructors have been Ralph DuCasse, Billy Morrow Jackson, and Timothy Clark. She has shown her work in many galleries and exhibit venus including the United Nations building in Manhattan and the Newington-Cropsy Foundation Gallery in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Marilyn is a member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina.
