I grew up in Alabama and earned a BFA and MFA from the school of the Art Institute of Chicago, later teaching there and at Wright College. Living in Nigeria, New Zealand, and Switzerland deeply shaped my vision. My work has been represented in Chicago, New York and Auckland, and collected internationally.
Nature and myth have been intertwined for me since childhood- meadows alive with bees, forest alive with imagined spirits. In New Zealand’s rainforests and Nigeria’s sacred groves, I found the same sense of wonder.
Guided by memory, myth and color, I explore forms that shift between real and imagined, seeking not to record the world, but to evoke the feeling of walking through it in awe.
