I grew up in Northeastern Ohio , graduated from Kent State, with a major in French and English. Self expression has always been a part of my life. I started oil painting in the seventies, after the birth of our daughter, and quilting and pastels after the death of my parents, 1990. The influence of nature can be seen throughout my work. After quilting a few years, my quilts have evolved into small art quilts and wearable art. I attended a two-week workshop in textiles at Penland School for Crafts, for which I was awarded a work-study scholarship. I paint now in watercolors primarily, choosing natural, organic subjects. Working with fabric and art gives my life a sense of meaning and purpose.
